What I'm reminiscing about...

This time last year we were enjoying nice warm weather in south Texas complete with my palm trees! There isn't much I miss about south Texas but the constant warm weather and palm trees I definitely do!  

What I'm loving...

Being blonde again! I mean, I never went super dark this year but I've had an ombre for quite a while. It's nice to see the blonde again! 

What we've been up to...

Lots of softball and things related!

 

 What I'm dreading...

Starting back to school. I know it'll be so worth it when I'm done but I've been out for so long! I've gotta find my groove again. 

What I'm working on...

Still finishing up the living room. Little by little we are getting things done!

What I'm excited about...

On Saturday I ordered these sandals and they came in yesterday! Target is killing it with their new spring things! While I cannot really get to enjoy them right now, they still make me super happy!

What I'm watching/reading...

Watching: The Bachelor - I really haven't been watching much tv lately.

Reading: The Choice - if I can get started! I've read a couple pages but just haven't had the time to sit and really read!

What I'm listening to...

Good old Texas Country. Josh Abbott Band, Cody Johnson, Aaron Watson - ya know, those guys!

What I'm wearing...

Currently my pjs. :) But lately this tunic has been on repeat! I have two colors, two more on the way and the shirt like it! To say I love them would be an understatement.

What I'm doing this weekend...

Softball tournament in Stephenville. Go Lady Cats!

What I'm looking forward to next month...

Lots to look forward to in March! St. Paddy's Day, Easter, my nephews birthday, and March madness!


 

What else is new...

I've started planning a few little trips for us this summer. We were going to do Disney but decided to hold off on that until I finish school. We aren't real sure where we'll go yet but will probably just stay in Texas and thanks to us being almost right in the middle of Texas, anywhere we go will be at least a 6 hour drive. I can dream of Disney and somewhere tropical right?


 

What's my favorite Easter tradition...

Of course getting fancy for Easter Sunday (each year we alternate between Tate's family church and mine since we never went to the same), dying eggs with the family and our infamous Egg toss! It's a huge deal! You and your partner get a raw (yes raw!) egg and toss it taking a step back after each catch. You play until all eggs have been broken. Some break in hands, some break on the ground, some break and splatter all over the catcher, and then some oddly just don't break! That one usually just ends up on someones head. My family has done this for as long as I remember and it's always such a competition. Sadly Tate and I have never won. Maybe this will be our year! Ha!

So there's February's check in and my first with Chasing Texas!

Friday Favorites

Glorious Friday! This week has flown by for me, even with it being a short week. We have nothing planned for the weekend. Did you hear me right? NOTHING! No trips, no games, no plans! Other than some yard work, because hello early Texas spring! Tate does have a game tonight but I'm not counting that. :)

| ONE |

I didn't do a weekend recap Monday, but we went home over the weekend. Going home is always a favorite. We met our new sweet niece Merritt, went on a date (funny how we have to go home to go on a date!), and my sister and I took B and my nephew to see the new Kung Fu Panda! I've never seen any of the other movies and B never said she wanted to see it but Jackson did  and it was the only kid's movie out (other than Alvin and the Chipmunks). It was actually cute and funny. We definitely enjoyed our weekend home.

| TWO |

This white tunic! I got the blue one a few weeks ago and my white one came in right before we left for Odessa. Perfect for a Valentine's date with some touches of pink. I love that I can wear them with jeans and leggings. (Please ignore the terrible wallpaper in Brylee's bathroom - that's next on our to do list!)

| THREE |

I put up some St. Paddy's day decor. I always decorate according to seasons but now that Brylee is old enough to understand each different holiday (big or small) I want to add a few things here and there for her. I remember my mom doing this for us when we were kids and I loved it! I'll probably start adding in some Easter things since Easter is so close to St. Paddy's day this year. #yesimcrazy



| FOUR |

Random Leah fact: I drink a ton of water - I love water - but I'll only drink it cold! I'll open a bottle but when it reaches room temperature I'll put it in the freezer for a bit and open another one. I mentioned a few months ago that I wanted a Yeti or Swell bottle and he got me a Yeti for Valentine's day! I knew he wouldn't get the swell because he won't order it online and you can't get them local, but Academy + Yeti = Valentine for me! It keeps my drink cold all day and I love it! Got sidetracked. I found some water benefits while 'pinning' the other day and they are all favorite reasons of mine to drink that water!

I made two super delicious recipes this week and both in the crockpot! One was Beef and Broccoli and the other was the Coffee Rubbed Brisket Tacos I talked about a few weeks back. Recipes coming soon, but take my word- OMG delicious!



| SIX |



So yesterday after I confessed all my things to y'all, I could not get Usher's Confessions out of my head. My solution to that was to listen to my Usher Pandora station. When Tate got home for lunch yesterday (we both go home every day for lunch and once a week go out - it's our time together) he started jamming right along with me. These kind of songs were out before we knew each other so it was just funny to see him singing old school Usher.

And to go right along with that, today at work I started off listening to it then decided I wanted something different. Instead of picking just one station I decided to shuffle all. This seemed like a good idea until we went from Frank Sinatra to Sofia the First to Mariah Carey Christmas. And with only 5 skips? I quickly reevaluated that decision in checking all stations. ha!

Sunroof weather is always a favorite! I love, love, love it!!



| EIGHT |

Carrie Underwood's bob she debuted at the Grammy's quickly became a favorite! Many moons ago I cut mine like this also and now I want to do it all over again - except I won't because it took way too long to grow it out. I do think this hair style looks great on her though.
