Daily Leah #13

So, late again, but I'm beginning to be okay with that. :)

I am back with another week of #dailyleah. These are pictures of something that made me happy that particular day - celebrating the happy things in each day whether the day was good or bad! :)

April 3 to April 9

Day 94
These dolls were in timeout. Poor dolls.

Day 95
Cinderella came to visit me while I was working out.

Day 96
New nail color (Let Me Pink About It) and some glitter per B's request.

Day 97
I had Cinderella visit me on Monday. Today, Sheriff Callie! She goes through phases where she wants to dress up when we get home ASAP! It lasts for a few weeks and then she's so over it. I love having different characters helping me around the house.

Day 98
I was making dinner while these two snacked on chips and quac and watched Steve Harvey's new show! We love it!

Day 99
Hit my goal today. Sidenote: Right when I was about to buy a fitbit I finally got my FuelBand to work! Saves me $100!

Day 100
Took Brylee to get her first pedicure and now she thinks she needs this kind of pampering every single day.

And that, my friends, is what makes me happy. :)

Hello, Friday!

Happy Friday!! For whatever strange reason this week has just seemed to drag by. Tate has a track meet tonight so after work B and I are going to workout (yes, she loves to workout with me), eat some yummy but not good for me Chinese food, watch movies and maybe squeeze in a test or two. Big plans, y'all, big plans! I don't have many favorites this Friday so lets get right to them.

ONE // First things first, Happy Birthday to my sister! Stormi I wish I could be there to celebrate with you but we can make it up another weekend! I know today is a tough one for you but I do hope you do go out and enjoy it. As a birthday gift to her, everybody keep her and her best friend in your thoughts and prayers. Her best friends sister was involved in a tragic accident and sadly didn't make it and they need all the prayers they can get!

TWO // Speaking of prayers, the other night when I was getting Brylee in bed and it was time to say our bedtime prayers she busts out with The Pledge of Allegiance followed by the Star Spangled Banner and then prayed her sweet little heart out. I mean she prayed about the trees, the dogs, the sticks, the pledge, her school, softball.. anything that's been going on in our life lately, yeah it was on that prayer list. What can I say, the girl loves life, the USA and Jesus. :) Those are some of my favorites too, sweet Brylee. I posted this video a few weeks ago but it's just too good to not share again!

THREE //  I've said it before and I'll say it again - Target is killing it right now! I had a "quick" trip there the other day and got way more than I intended to. Doesn't that always happen though? Haha. I picked up this super cute bag that I'm using to carry around all my school stuff in, this floral shirt, and two cold shoulder tops (black and turquoise). I loved my DV sandals so much that I got another pair in black! All of this will be on repeat this spring and summer! Although I do shop at Walmart also, I thought this was too funny!

FOUR //  Have y'all tried my Coffee Rubbed Tacos yet? We had them again this week. They are seriously just so good!

FIVE // I finished Sean Lowe's book. That probably took me a total of 2 days. I plan on doing a book review soon, but his is definitely one of my favorites!

SIX //  A few weeks ago Biana posted this little tip to where you can add a direct link to your page on a comment. I did it and for WEEKS have been commenting with it thinking it was working. Hey, it looked like a link so I never even checked it. Low and behold the link wasn't going directly to my website; instead it was linking to an unknown page on that blog. After searching and searching for hours I figured it out. When I copied and pasted it into my word doc. the quotations changed - something I would have never thought to check! So, just an FYI for those of you that may have tried and couldn't get it to work, check the quotation marks! Hope that helps some of you.  Here is the code if you need it - just remember to check the quotes! :)

<a href="yourblogurlhere" title="Your blog name here”>Your blog name here again!</a>

SEVEN // I finally got around to posting my April to do's. I can do everything on that list. I can!

EIGHT // So apparently when this actually happened (almost a year ago) I never saw it! A friend shared it on facebook and I think it's absolutely hilarious! I love Tom Hanks.

I hope y'all have the best Friday! Enjoy your weekend. :)

Monthly To Do || April

I'm so excited April is finally here. I've said it before, but the beginning of spring is more of a fresh start to me than January 1. We have big plans for April and I'm so ready! I am keeping my April list a bit short because I didn't do so hot in March.

Before we get on to April, let's recap March.

1. Purge closets - Yes, yes and yes! I did all 4 closets in our house and even did all the drawers too! I had a huge pile of clothes and shoes that were donated, trashed or sold. So Accomplished!

2. Clean and organize bathrooms and kitchen - This still didn't happen! Boo!

3. Plant garden - Yeah, this didn't happen either. We had such a busy month that this just got pushed aside. Maybe April a garden will come.

4. Bible study - I have found a few bible studies that I'm going to try thanks to Shay's blog. I remembered her posting some a long time ago so after some searching on her blog it was one of her Shades of Shay! Now I just need to decide which one to start with.

5. Take Brylee outside - Yes, this happened. This happened a lot! We loved being outside.

6. Order canvas prints - Nope. Didn't do this either.

7. Go to bed earlier - Big no right here too. I really tried to with this one but it just didn't happen.

8. Easter baskets and Easter dresses - Brylee had her dress and her Easter basket was awesome. I, however, just couldn't find one that I loved that wasn't too short so I just dragged one out of the closet from last year.

9. Walk/Run 2x a week - Nope. Enough said.

10. Whole 30 (kind of) - This was probably my biggest fail this month. With Easter and my nephews birthday I just couldn't stick to a good meal plan. One week we ate out every single night. This is priority this month.

I'm going to keep the following  going each month:

1. Lose 2-3 lbs per month - I gained this month, once again.
2. Read 2-3 books per month -I read two this month! I'm hoping to get a review up soon.
3. Daily devotions - Yes, but just my Jesus Calling book. See #4 above for more on this.
4. Workout every day- I started off super strong on this one and by the end of the month I was lucky to have in one day.

Now, on to April.

1. Go to bed earlier - I know I said this last month, but I really mean it this month. I NEED to start going to bed earlier. My schedule is changing and in order for me to get things done I have got to get more sleep. I like waking up early so sleeping in and staying up late isn't the answer. Going to bed earlier it is!

2. Blog at least 3 times a week - I love this little blog of mine. I may not have many follows and I am still growing in this area but I do enjoy this little outlet I have. I hate trying to catch up with only one post a week.

3. Spring clean -Yeah, said this last month and it also didn't happen... other than the closets. I do need to complete the entire house.

4. Make 3 'Whole 30' recipes a week - I brought up the idea to Tate to do the Whole 30 and the look he gave me was enough of an answer. That being said, I am going to try to do at least 3 Whole 30 type meals a week. He may not be able to do it all day but he's sure going to do it for some dinners.

5. Pick out paint - We decided to hire a painter to paint each room in our house (that we haven't already finished) just to get it all done. That leaves me with 7 rooms to pick out paint for. Most will probably be white but we can't even agree on a white. Ha! This has to be done this month!

I'm going to keep the following  going each month:

1. Lose 2-3 lbs per month
2. Read 2-3 books per month
3. Daily devotions
4. Workout every day

Now, since this months list was kinda short I decided to add a few things that I would like to do but if they don't get done, I'll be just fine.

Take Brylee to her first professional baseball game.
Remember birthdays - I've been so bad at this lately!
Finish plans for living room.
Landscaping/plant a garden.
Pick out classes for summer.
Go to the Zoo.

So, there's what I hope to get done in April! I can do this! What do your April goals/to-do's look like?

Daily Leah #12

So yeah, once again late. I think I've finally found my groove with school and now I've got to find it for this blog of mine.

I am back with another week of #dailyleah. These are pictures of something that made me happy that particular day - celebrating the happy things in each day whether the day was good or bad! :)

March 27 to April 2

Day 87
Happy Easter! Although the Easter bunny did come, we will always remember and teach the reason for the holiday. He is Risen!

Day 88
Eating breakfast and finishing up The Choice.

Day 89
Without Brylee here I had time to make a wreath I had been intending on making for over a month now. Sadly, it didn't all go as planned but it still looked good once I got it complete. Hopefully I'll have a tutorial soon.

Day 90
Oops, something went wrong with your computer - this is not the message you want to get in the middle of a test!

Day 91
Started Sean Lowe's book. I've heard it's a good one.

Day 92
Spaghetti squash is a favorite around here. We love pasta but, hello, summer - gotta be smart with our food.

Day 93
We were your basic Texans and took our annual spring pictures in the bluebonnets! I talked on Friday our they are one of my favorite things right now. They are just so pretty!

And that, my friends, is what makes me happy. :)

What's Up Wednesday (or Friday) | March

How in the world is it April 1st? March totally flew by! I had every intention on doing What's Up Wednesday on Wednesday but I had a test. Soooo, since it's April Fools and Friday Favorites, I'm fooling you by posting one of my favorite link ups. See what I did there? :)

Moving on.

What we're eating this week...
Umm, seriously we've have eaten out every night this week except one and I made chili dogs.  Brylee stayed in Odessa with family for the week so it's just been me and Tate. He's had a lot of softball and I've been using the free time to get ahead in school. For someone who loves cooking I made nothing but junk all week. And regret it.

What I'm reminiscing about...
Brylee's first Easter. She was only 3 months old and so tiny!

What I've loving lately...
The Bluebonnets! They are in full bloom here and oh so pretty! I wish I had my own picture but I haven't stopped to take one this year (image found here). The above picture has some from a few years back. They are just so pretty!

What we've been up to...
School, softball, school, softball, a mini vacation and Easter! :)

What I'm dreading...
Picking out paint for the entire house. When we moved into our house we decided every room would get a fresh coat of paint and we would just do one room at a time but have now decided to hire a painter to get it all done quickly. Now we just have to decide colors for each room. Currently we agree on nothing. Not even white! Why are there so many whites?!

What I'm working on...
Time Management! There is just so much to do these days and I don't feel like I am giving each thing I want to do 100% of me and I hate that. I need to prioritize my life and manage it better! Thanks to Biana's post earlier this week I now have Wunderlist and I'm hoping that will help me stay on top of things.

What I'm excited about...
To see my sweet girl this weekend! I'm glad she is having fun but week away from her is too long!

What I'm watching/reading...
Watching: Dancing With The Stars, The Voice, and Friends. Sidenote: I own the entire DVD collection of Friends except the first and last season. The last season wasn't available at the time and I'm not sure about the first. Anywho, as much as I LOVE Friends, I had never seen the first or last episode until now thanks to Netflix. Well, I've seen the first and I'm working my way through the entire show. Tate had never even watched until now and he loves it!

Reading: I finally finished The Choice (so good!) and I received Sean Lowe's book from a giveaway on Everyday Grace and started it this morning.

What I'm listening to...
Right now, peace and quite. I'm typing this at work and I'm alone. Most of the time I always have some kind of background noise but this is nice for a change.

What I'm wearing...
Well, not currently wearing, but these shorts! When we were in Dallas a few weekends ago J. Crew was a priority because I needed new shorts. I tried on these and fell in love! They come in these and the navy striped but I wish they had more colors. I would probably own every single one.

What I'm doing this weekend...
So far, other than picking up Brylee, no plans! Tate was wanting to go to Albuquerque but I'm hoping I talked him out of it. I wouldn't mind going, but we've had such a busy month that a weekend off sounds nice.

What I'm looking forward to next month...
BASEBALL!
My sister's birthday!
Spring weather!

What else is new...
Well, weather wise there is a chance of snow in our region today, not locally, but a few hours away. Mother Nature has some humor this April Fools.

What is my favorite spring cleaning tip...
When we lived in McAllen I did this 28 day clean and organize challenge and loved it. Although it took me more than 28 days to complete, I learned a lot through that challenge. I have a weekly cleaning schedule now but there are things that get over looked that you don't even think about so I make sure I do these when spring cleaning! This could probably be a different post for another day but here are some that I always forget to do:
-door knobs
-drawer knobs and handles
-light switches and outlet covers
-old lotions/perfumes/hair products (I'm such a hoarder in this!)
-walls (especially where little hands leave tracks)
-pet bowls (water and food)
-dryer vents
-A/C vents
-give all stuffed animals a wash

So, along with What's Up Wednesday, I'm linking up with my Friday gals!

Have the best Friday friends, and don't fall for those April fools jokes!
